Since the mid 1990s already, the protection of the climate and natural resources has been of particular importance to Weiherer beer. And just theses days, the Kundmüller Brauerei-Gasthof has now been recognized again for its qualified, voluntary environmental services as part of the Bavarian Environment + Climate Pact. At the handover of the certificate in Weiher, the Bamberg district administrator Johann Kalb praised the commitment of the brewery.
As a member of the Bavarian Environment + Climate Pact, the Kundmüller family and their team not only take on the topic as individuals, but also on a company level. The focus is on the foresighted avoidance of future environmental pollution and not its repair.
Two large photovoltaic systems are providing environmentally friendly energy since a long time. The guest house and restaurant are equipped with a solar system to support the heating. Only raw materials from organic cultivation are used for the Weiherer organic beers. In 2011 the brewery was also recognized as Solarbier® brewery. The protected brand Solarbier® guarantees that the Weiherer beers are produced exclusively with renewable energies.
"In addition, we have of course always focused on energy saving and the latest technology in all of our extensive renovation, conversion and new building work," says Managing Director Oswald Kundmüller. And the district administrator adds: “The Kundmüller brewery is not only a model company in terms of excellent beer variety, but also in terms of the environment. Thus, enjoying their beer is twice as much fun."
