Erhard Georg is a cargo bike owner. This, in itself, is not extraordinary, as cargo bikes have now become part of our society for sustainability reasons. However, Erhard Georg owns a unique Weiherer beer cargo bike, and there isn’t another like it.
A few months ago, things were different. The Rhinelander used to ride his bike regularly to a beverage market 35 kilometers away, where he could find our beer and, most importantly, his favorite beer, the Rolator Doppelbock. He discovered and fell in love with this beer two years ago through a beer Advent calendar.
When the new crate was ready, Erhard came to Weiher with his whole family for the bock beer tapping ceremony – of course, bringing along his cargo bike (and also his wife Anja's bike). Together with the Weiher team, they celebrated the beautiful bike and the fresh bock beers.
While their daughter Jana and her fiancé Lupo stayed a few more days in Weiher, Erhard and his wife started their journey back on their bikes. From Weiher to Kerpen, it’s a total of 715 kilometers. They had definitely earned their arrival beer!
The cargo bike journey, through Miltenberg, Aschaffenburg, Hanau, Würzburg, Frankfurt (where the Main meets the Rhine), Mainz, Burg Kaub, Loreley, Deutsches Eck in Koblenz, the Middle Rhine Valley, the Siebengebirge with Drachenburg, and Cologne, can be viewed here in a gallery of images.
