This year in Weiher, it was once again time for "drawing cards for a good cause." On March 6th and April 3rd, starting at 6 PM, the two annual pigeon markets took place in support of the Children's and Youth Hospice in Bamberg. Andreas Nüsslein, the main organizer of the event, along with his team, sold 36 "Fränkisches Blatt" cards to guests for 1.50 EUR each at the pigeon markets. A "lucky fairy" draws a card from a new deck, and whoever purchased that card in the previous game is the winner! While no pigeons or live animals were up for grabs, there were homemade cakes, handcrafted specialties, treat baskets, and, of course, beer. The atmosphere was fantastic, as always, thanks in no small part to the musical accompaniment by M & M - simply folk - and Thomas Datscheg.
