In our anniversary year, we once again have reason to celebrate! Our Weiherer beers have won a total of 4 medals at the European Beer Star, one of the most important and authentic beer competitions in the world. Silver for our Summer Ale, bronze each for our Wheat and Smoked Bock, and another bronze medal for Weiherer Lager Hell, our oldest and most beloved beer variety. This bronze medal makes us especially proud, as the "German-Style Helles" category sees a very high number of entries, and in this case, a bronze medal means more to us than some gold medals.
The awards ceremony took place on November 27, 2024, during the "Night of the Winners" at the BrauBeviale in Nuremberg. At the European Beer Star, a total of 2,360 beers are evaluated in a blind tasting based solely on sensory criteria—appearance, aroma, and taste. "Winning an award at the European Beer Star shows that you are among the best in the world when it comes to beer quality," says Stefan Stang from the Private Breweries Association, which organizes the event.
That's why we are incredibly proud and extend our heartfelt thanks to our entire brewery team. By the way, during our anniversary year, a total of 23 Weiherer beers have been awarded 31 times.
