The Weiherer Weizenbock aged in wooden barrels / Dornfelder matured for eight months in an oak barrel that was previously filled with Dornfelder wine from the Wagner winery in Staffelbach located on the southern slopes of Weiher (directly behind the brewery). The result is a symbiosis of two traditional Franconias drinks that combine the malty sweetness of the beer with the vanilla-earthy aromas of the wood and the tangy acidity of the wine. The initial taste is velvety-soft, accompanied by dried fruit and honey. This beer specialty fades slowly, with a warming, fruity finish reminiscent of gooseberries.

Since 2020, we have been brewing in our new, energy-efficient and innovative 60 hl 5-vessel brewhouse (1 hl = 100 liters) from Kaspar Schulz, Bamberg. Alongside master brewer Roland Kundmüller, our brewers take careful care of Weiher beer every day. And that is also necessary: Because brewing is a complex process.
