15 Weiherer Beer Museum and beer mug collection part 2

And now we come to another highlight – our beer museum! We opened this in 2018. The premises were already available and when the opportunity arose for us to take over the mug collections of regular guests Hansi Cölsch and Herbert Pfaff, the decision was made: we are opening a beer museum. In total, there are over 1600 mugs from all over Germany in our premises, some special ones even from the 19th century.

The Franconian mugs can be found in the front area on both the left and right sides. In the back on the right are the mugs from Bavaria and in the opposite corner you will find Baden-Württemberg. Our oldest mugs are placed in the front right display case. The mug of Löwenbräu from Munich dates approx. to the 1890s. Our youngsters come from between 1960 and 1965.

Surely you have already discovered some musical instruments, haven‘t you? We think music and beer go well together, so they also find a place in our beer museum. It is therefore a perfect space for tastings, meetings and people who share the fascination for beer and its history

... that here you can see the original music box, which was in our old restaurant. It has been renewed and serves now as an exhibit.

Since 2020, we have been brewing in our new, energy-efficient and innovative 60 hl 5-vessel brewhouse (1 hl = 100 liters) from Kaspar Schulz, Bamberg. Alongside master brewer Roland Kundmüller, our brewers take careful care of Weiher beer every day. And that is also necessary: Because brewing is a complex process.
