2 Old brewery and storage cellar

In our old brewery, brewing was carried out from 1990 to 2020. In 1990, the output was about 600 hectoliters. At that time, only the classic was brewed here, our Weiherer Lager. And this was also only served on tap in the brewery‘s own pub. The brewhouse used at that time was already made of stainless steel, we received it second-hand from Nabburg in 1990. Over time, the brewers here developed many beer styles, whose recipes are now being continued in the new brewery.

Our brewery team consists of about 15 employees and produces about 30,000 hectoliters of beer. The brewmaster is Roland Kundmüller, who together with his brother Oswald took over the family business from their parents Erwin and Anni. Senior boss Erwin is no longer active in the brewhouse. Instead, he devotes himself entirely to distilling „Erwin‘s Stöffla“. See also section three on the guided tour.

Since 2020, we have been brewing in our new, energy-efficient and innovative 60 hl 5-vessel brewhouse (1 hl = 100 liters) from Kaspar Schulz, Bamberg. Alongside master brewer Roland Kundmüller, our brewers take careful care of Weiher beer every day. And that is also necessary: Because brewing is a complex process.
